Scotland High School will host a Financial Literacy Night on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the school's auditorium. Presenters from the College Foundation of North Carolina and colleges and universities will be on hand to discuss options for paying for college, including the NC 529 savings plan.
It's never too early to start thinking about college, so this event is open to parents and students of ALL ages.

College Central, the collegiate hub of Scotland High School will be hosting: “Putting the pieces together: Financial planning for your future college student.” This event will be held on Monday, January 30 at 6:00pm in the Scotland High School auditorium.
We are inviting all Scotland County parents, students, and community members to learn how we can best prepare our students to be college ready. As Scotland County Schools vision statement states: “Scotland County Schools will graduate all students’ college and career ready,” and it is the mission of this program to inform and educate all facets of our county on this vision.
Baseball Tryouts
Baseball tryouts begin Monday, February 13th at 3:00 at McCoy Field. Students may tryout for 9th grade, JV or Varsity Baseball. Students who try out must first have a physical.
Soccer Tryouts
Girls’ soccer tryouts begin Monday, February 13th, at 3:00 at the soccer field. Students may try out for JV or Varsity Soccer. Students who try out must have had a physical before trying out.
Softball Tryouts
Softball tryouts begin Monday, February 13th, at 3:00 at the softball field. Girls may try out for JV or Varsity Softball. Students who try out must have had a physical before trying out.
Dress Code at Scotland High School
1. Midriffs shall be covered;2. Shoulders shall be covered (three-finger rule), though sleeveless apparel is acceptable;
3. Undergarments shall not be visible;
4. Sleepwear (i.e. pajamas and bedroom shoes) shall not be worn;
5. Shorts, dresses, and skirts shall be at least fingertip in front and back;
6. Pants shall be worn at the waist;
7. Belts, if worn, shall be buckled and at waist;
8. Sunglasses, goggles, and head covers shall not be worn on campus during school hours, or in
school buildings, and must be placed in lockers before 1st block and retrieved only at the end of
the school day;
9. Leggings may not be worn as pants, and if worn there shall be an outer garment that meets
dress code;
10. Clothing with holes, tears, or “see through” shall follow the dress code as stated above.
11. Appropriate neckline must be evident at all times. Attire that shows cleavage may not be worn.
12. Oversized shirts may present a safety hazard. Therefore, they shall not extend below the back
pockets when pants are worn at the waist.
13. Clothing and accessories, as well as messages on clothing or accessories, shall not be lewd,
vulgar, provocative, obscene, degrade individuals or groups, or promote violence, alcohol,
tobacco, or illegal substances.
